Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival (chunjie in mandarin), is a time when millions of Chinese bid farewell to a long winter and welcome the spring season – a time of new harvest and growth.
Although Chinese New Year 2020 falls on 25th of January, celebrations at OrangeTee & Tie have already begun.
Ushering the year of the Rat, the management and staff at OrangeTee & Tie renewed their commitment to our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative – Love for Senior Citizens.
This year, we invited senior citizens from the Toa Payoh residential area to join us at our OrangeTee building for a time of Chinese New Year festivities.
The evening started with a time of light exercise as the seniors danced to the tune of Chinese New Year classics. Next, our friendly volunteers organised a series of games and it was heart-warming to see our seniors getting so involved.
No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without a round of “Lohei” and our seniors definitely enjoyed tossing the yusheng to usher in the year of the Rat.
Finally, a special Chinese New Year feast was on the menu and everyone enjoyed a meal together with the seniors.
See you at the next Love for Senior Citizens event!
